What our clients say
"We had several failed attempts with larger franchise companies, due to hidden costs, lesser quality for our budget, or busy schedules; therefore we set out to find a custom woodworker in Lancaster county to build our cabinetry. After at least a half a dozen phone conversations with many craftsmen, Sylvan at Misty Mountain Cabinetry made our choice easy."

Homeowner
"Working with Sylvan and his crew has been one of the highlights of our new home construction. Of all the subcontractors we interacted with on the project, Sylvan was by far the cleanest, most professional, friendliest, and easiest to work with. His pricing is fair and the quality of his work is second to none. Every time I walk into my new home I am so in awe of the craftmanship and beauty of the cabinets he made. Every sight visit he performed, as well as the instillation and a follow up visit, (coming all the way from Pennsylvania to Virginia!!!) was a pleasure and wonderful experience. There were a few things that I really had my heart set on - a beaded board backsplash, all the way to the ceiling upper cabinets with coordinated trim, and panels for all of my appliances - and Sylvan made it all happen. He is a happy and kind person who, at the end of this project, I not only call my cabinet designer and installer, but also my friend. I whole-heartedly recommend Misty Mountain Cabinetry for any cabinetry needs and will certainly be using them for any future cabinetry needs. It has been a privilege to know and work with them."

Questions on our kitchen cabinet process?

Get your answers below!

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

There are several things we always want to address quickly when planning your kitchen cabinet layout:

  1. Where is your kitchen sink going to go?
  2. Where will your kitchen appliances be?
  3. What size and style appliances do you have (particularly the fridge and stove)?
  4. Where are your corner cabinets and what features do you want in them?

The answers to these four questions provide a good foundation for the rest of the kitchen design.

The first step towards a beautiful kitchen is getting to know you and your needs.

We’ll need to measure the space so we can make sure your new cabinets will fit.

Once we are complete with the design process of your cabinets, our team of Amish cabinet makers will expertly build them, giving life to the kitchen of your dreams. When they are finished, our installers will contact you to arrange a time to come and install your new kitchen!

We encourage three standard features in every kitchen we design and build:

  1. Soft-close drawer slides and hinges
  2. Double waste can pull-out cabinets
  3. Utensil dividers in 2-3 drawers.

Styles come and go, but here are three that we receive many requests for:

  1. Contemporary-modern cabinets. These are a simple cabinet style and sometimes referred to as the “Shaker style”
  2. Decorative-ornate. These have additional woodworking and trim pieces, giving the cabinets and kitchen some extra flair.
  3. Farmhouse style. Also called the “reclaimed look,” these bring a rustic and sometimes stressed style into your kitchen.

No matter the style you want in your cabinets, our skilled team of cabinet makers is ready to design and create them!

In current cabinet styles, we see many requests for:

  • Whites
  • Grays
  • Blues
  • Medium-dark brown stains

Currently, three trends we see are the following:

  1. Glazed finishes on cabinets
  2. White-washed or distressed finishes
  3. Farmhouse and rustic style cabinets

Absolutely! We want your kitchen to be yours, so we allow you to have full customization over the following cabinet parts:

  • Interior wood choice
  • Exterior wood choice
  • Door style
  • Cabinet colors

There are limitless options when it comes to customizing your kitchen cabinets! The standard depth for a set of drawers is 24,” but you can go as deep or shallow depending on how much storage space that particular setup will provide.

Yes!

Having a custom kitchen adds features, quality, and style that makes your home something worth spending money on when you go to sale.

Many home buyers are looking for kitchens that are not “stock” or “builders-grade” quality.

It is possible, but it is often a lot of work. It also rarely brings back the original sheen or finish of the cabinets.

We put a lot of work and take pride in our hand-crafted Amish-built cabinets, including the following craftsmanship features:

  1. 3/4″ plywood for the main box frame (industry standard is 1/2″ plywood).
  2. No staples are used that can come out; only glues and screws.
  3. We add supports behind each drawer.
  4. We design and build for long-term stability and quality.

Our goal is that if you want a new kitchen 10-15 years from now, that you can sell your kitchen for a good resale value.

Located just 3 miles southwest of Harrisburg, Camp Hill is a borough in Cumberland County, PA. It is a part of the Harrisburg-Carlisle metropolitan statistical area, and it has a population of roughly 7,888 people.

The peculiar name “Camp Hill” is believed to have come from the history or a church located just west of the modern-day borough. This church split, and one faction began meeting outdoors on a hill. Hence, the area was named Camp Hill.

Prior to the Civil War the community was known as White Hill, and it was a common stop along the Cumberland Valley Railroad between Carlisle and Harrisburg. It also played a part during the Civil War, as the Battle of Sporting Hill was the northernmost engagement of the Gettysburg Campaign.

If you are ever in the Camp Hill area, here are a few local attractions you have to be sure and experience:

  • Brewhouse Grille
  • Sacred Rides Michaux
  • Monkey Joe’s
  • Oyster Mill Playhouse
  • Dissolve Float Spa
  • Do You Even Escape Escape Room
  • The Coliseum

Plus all the other fun attractions you can find throughout the Pennsylvania state capital of Harrisburg!

Here is what the Visit Cumberland Valley website has to say about Camp Hill:

The town of Camp Hill is located in the lively West Shore area of Cumberland Valley and is just two miles from the state capital of Harrisburg. The town is as lovely as it is historical and includes a great local shopping scene. More than 55% of the small businesses in town are women-owned.

If you’re a knowledge junky, know that the Cleve J. Fredricksen Library was voted “simply the best library” by the Harrisburg Magazine reader’s poll. Take the West Shore Driving Tour to experience Civil War history and other towns within Cumberland Valley.

The VisitPA website describes it this way:

Just three minutes from Harrisburg, Camp Hill has the cozy small-town comfort that’s perfect for a relaxing getaway. With everything from float spas to family fun centers, it’s the perfect place to take it slow and enjoy time with the fam.
